ADVANCES IN
NMR AND MS BASED METABOLOMICS
Padova - November 14-16, 2017
BRIEF DESCRIPTION
Metabolomics is widely applied to many fields, from food science to medicine. The most popular analytical methods used in metabolomics are based on nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and mass spectrometry (MS). Both techniques make important use of chemometric analysis. Several groups are using these tools and are increasingly asking for a dedicated discussion group. The aim of this event is to expose to one another groups of the different communities working in metabolomics, to present and discuss new trends in metabolomics, to review the main statistical tools used for data analysis, to highlight those aspects of our understanding that are still on a shaky terrain, and to outline the future of the metabolomics community in Italy. Several topics ranging from analytical techniques to new fields of application will be discussed.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Scientists from academia, industry and government involved in MS and in NMR-based metabolomics, who focus their studies on:
-Metabolic phenotyping
-Metabolomics in clinical medicine
-Food and Nutrition
-Computational and statistical tools
